Community Integration Funding
Building on the Department of Justice and Equality’s experience of funding Community Integration projects to date, the Department will be supporting a local community integration initiative in a community where a new centre opens. This will benefit both new and established residents of the area. A maximum grant allocation of €50,000 will be available.
The fund will have two elements:
- Start-up funding for community integration linked to the Friends of the Centre group with seed funding of €5,000 to organise events to provide opportunities for developing friendships and mutual understanding will be provided.
- A once-off grant of up to €45,000 will also be provided to the local authority to develop or upgrade infrastructure for integration such as sports facilities, community halls and playgrounds. The local authority will be expected to consult with the residents of the town to prioritise a suitable project.
